This course gives an in-depth study of the hearsay rule and exceptions. The course covers the hearsay rule in five parts: 1) non-hearsay; 2) statutory non-hearsay; 3) exceptions that apply when the declarant's availability is immaterial; 4) exceptions that apply when the declarant is unavailable; and 5) the hearsay rules vis-a'-vis the Sixth Amendment Confrontation Clause. Descriptive video lecture presentations contain numerous examples and explanations followed by opportunities to self-assessment via over sixty interactive problems and quizzes. It also contains downloadable course materials for future reference and a copy of the Louisiana Code of Evidence.
